Base Camp 101
Base Camp is where students get to pause from the noise of school, friendships, and life — and step into a space that’s fun, uplifting, and deeply theirs.
It’s a place to laugh, connect, ask real questions, and grow in faith alongside leaders who genuinely care. Whether a student has been to any BlueSky activities, Base Camp offers a chance to belong, breathe, and be refreshed.
What is Base Camp?
Base Camp is one of the programs hosted by BlueSky Family Life for students in middle school and high school in Nairobi and beyond. We host Base Camp three times a year for students to unite for fun, food, games, worship, and other activities.
What makes Base Camp a safe and welcoming space for students?
BlueSky Family Life has an amazing team of volunteers who are gifted and experienced in ministry to students. They are trained in discipleship, leadership, programming, and fun! They offer a place where students can explore, grow, and express themselves freely.
In what ways does Base Camp encourage students to ask big questions and think deeply about life and faith?
Our Student Ministry Coordinator, Rodrick, is leading the students in our ministry through biblical content based on the scripture and theme that many of them experienced at camp this year. Additionally, our volunteer leaders spend time with small groups based on gender and age, asking thought-provoking questions about real life and how to apply God’s truth to those situations. The leaders always say their favorite part is hearing the students’ answers during the discussion time.
When and where is the next Base Camp happening — and how can students join in?
Our second Base Camp of the year will be on December 13, 2025, from 1-5 PM at Nairobi Chapel Ngong Road. Please register your student by December 1st so that our team can plan accordingly.
See you there!
