We pursue this by building relationships through adventures through three main avenues in Nairobi, Kenya: BlueSky Adventures, Camp BlueSky, and BlueSky Family Life.

Job Summary

The Assistant Climb Instructor leads people and facilitates growth and learning for participants through the avenue of climbing and other adventures experiences. As a team member, the Climb Instructor will contribute to fostering a strong sense of community, personal growth, and spiritual development among our team members and participants alike.

Responsibilties

  • Relational Ministry - Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and prayer support

    to participants during and after climb sessions, fostering an environment for

    spiritual growth and reflection.

  • Programming

    • Lead participants in the BlueSky climbing experience through training,

      belaying, coaching, and other forms of support while participants grow in

      climbing.

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by adhering to all safety

      protocols.

    • Support the planning and delivery of annual Climb BlueSky events and

      programming.

    • Lead instructional climbing classes tailored to guests' experience level

      and needs.

    • Support BlueSky Expedition efforts through training and guiding outdoor

      adventure experiences.

  • Administration

    • Assist with administrative tasks such as:

      •  Participant registration and waivers.

      •  Recording sales and guest experience information; and

      •  Closing gym duties including submitting daily finance reports.

    • Maintain and ensure the proper care of adventure equipment and gear.

  • Collaborate – engage with climb teammates and other departments to enhance

    ministry opportunities across the organization.

  • Professional Development

    • Engage in ongoing personal and professional development as it relates

      to climb programming and relational ministry with the multinational

      community.

Qualifications

  • A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community

    and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.

  • Heart for the nations with proven spiritual leadership experience.

  • Passion for leading people through adventure-based experiences and facilitating

    growth and learning for participants.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including patience,

    encouragement, and active listening so that there are opportunities to connect.

  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Physical fitness and the ability to participate in strenuous climbing gym

    activities.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
